A boat trip prior to the conference dinner has been arranged for ICLP
participants. You will board the ICLP sightseeing boat at
Nyhavn, a charming part of Copenhagen with its old houses
painted in different colours.
At this time of the year, restaurants in Nyhavn have moved outside and
there will be
great opertunities to enjoy a drink before the boat trip, i.e., if
you have the time and are able to locate a free chair (or go the grocery
store
round the corner and sit on the quay as all the others).
The tour will take you - in the company of your friends of the
ICLP society - through the most interesting parts of historical
Copenhagen,
along canals and old parts of the harbour with many beautiful buildings
from
different centuries, and you also experience at close hold the
present-day lazy and
bohemian summer mood in parts such as Christanshavn.
We approach Holmen which is a former and historically interesting
military base and shipyard, also interesting from an architectural point
of view. We embark at the restaurant where the conference dinner will
take place.
How to find
Nyhavn
Nyhavn ("new harbour") starts at Kongens Nytorv square at the
heastern end of the medieval city core. From FLoC, take bus 42 or
43. From one of the pre-booked hotels, either walk, or take bus 29
(from Danasvej for Cab-Inn) or 6 (from Vesterbrogade for other
hotels).
Non-ICLP
participants
The boat trip is included in the ICLP registation fee; a limited
number of additional boat trip tickets will be on sale for non-ICLP
participants at the registration desk.
